The estimate & invoice app for plumbers, HVAC, electricians, handymen, pool & lawn

Say the job.
Text the bill.
The money goes to your bank.

Describe the job out loud. Settle turns it into a clean estimate using your prices. You text it. The customer taps Approve or Pay on their phone. The money goes straight into your bank account. We never touch it.

Nothing to set up. Send as many as you want. Cancel any time from your phone.

Settle on an iPhone: the job list with Maria Alvarez's $1,521.59 water heater invoice marked Viewed, two paid jobs, and the New Estimate button in the toolbar.

The other apps vs. Settle

We read thousands of reviews of the other invoice apps. Same complaints, every year.

Joist, Invoice Simple, Housecall Pro, Jobber, Square, Invoice2go. Here's what their own customers say, and what we did about it.

The other apps
Settle

The app holds your money.

When a customer pays through most apps, the money goes to the app company first. They decide when you get it. If something looks odd to them, they sit on it.

"Three weeks now waiting for my money. No phone number on the app."Joist customer

The money goes to your bank. We never touch it.

Payments go straight from your customer's card to your bank account. Settle can't hold it, delay it or freeze it, because it never passes through us. Not once, not for a day.

You have to set it all up first.

Type in every part and price you use. Build templates. Load your customers. Then, maybe, send your first estimate.

"At first it's time consuming, adding items slowly."Joist customer

Nothing to set up. Tap the button and talk.

Describe the job the way you'd tell a buddy. The estimate is written in seconds. Settle remembers your prices from what you send, so there's nothing to type in ahead of time.

The computer makes up your prices.

Some new apps have a computer guess what a water heater swap costs in your town. You already know what it costs. You've known for years.

"They assume your business never has any problems."Housecall Pro customer

Your prices. Always.

Settle writes out the lines and the wording. The numbers are yours: whatever you charged last time. If it has to guess one, it puts an orange dot on it so you check it. After a few jobs the dots mostly go away.

Limits, surprise charges, can't cancel.

"$8 a month for five invoices." Free plans that disappear. The price goes up once you're in. Cancelling means a phone call.

"Canceled two years in a row, still being charged."Invoice2go customer

Send as many as you want. Cancel from your phone.

No limit on estimates or invoices, even on the free plan. One price that never goes up on you. Cancel in your iPhone settings in two taps. Nobody to call.

Stop paying, lose your records.

Years of invoices, gone or locked up the day you cancel.

"Once subscription ends, no access to your data."Joist customer

Your records stay yours.

Everything is saved on your phone. Export it all to a spreadsheet any time, paying or not. That button never goes away.

Customer can't open it. Bid lost when the phone rings.

"Customers can't open the file." "Only works with internet."

"Lost an unsaved bid when a call came in."Invoice Simple customer

It opens. It saves itself. It works with no signal.

The estimate goes out as a PDF and a link, so it always opens. Every change saves the second you make it. You can write it with no bars; you only need signal to send.

What the customer gets

A page with your name on it, not ours.

Your business name, your license number, your line items. One button: Approve on an estimate, Pay on an invoice. They can pay by card, Apple Pay or bank transfer, with no account to create. You get a notification the moment they open it.

Their bank statement shows your company's name. Settle shows up once, in small print at the bottom.

How it works under the hood: payments run on Stripe, the same company that processes cards for Amazon, Target and Shopify. You get your own Stripe account, in your name. Settle just sends the payment there.

Six things Settle will never do.

Who makes this

"I'm Cody. I'm a software engineer in Las Vegas, and I've run my own businesses for years. Settle is the invoice app I kept wishing existed: one button, your prices, and the money goes to your bank, not to us. If something's wrong, text me; it's my number at the bottom."
